| Mr Chatterbox used to talk all day and all night long. He simply could not stop talking. He would talk to anyone or anything and when he didn’t have anyone to talk to he would just talk to himself. His lived in a box shaped house which was called “Chatterbox Cottage”. One morning the postman arrived with a letter for him. Mr Chatterbox started talking to the postman and carried on all morning. As a result, the poor postman was late delivering all his letters. That afternoon Mr Chatterbox went to the hat shop in the village which was owned by Mr Bowler. He went on and on all afternoon and half the night. When he eventually got home his supper was cold as Mrs Bowler had cooked it for him hours ago. While he ate he thought of a solution. He ordered a magic hat for Mr Chatterbox which arrived a week later! Mr Bowler went to Chatterbox Cottage to deliver the magic hat to Mr Chatterbox. It was a beautiful hat! Mr Chatterbox put it on but the more he spoke the larger his hat became. Once his hat grew down to his feet Mr Chatterbox stopped talking. Once he stopped talking his hat became smaller and smaller. The hat actually taught Mr Chatterbox his lesson. Today he doesn’t talk nearly as much as he used to. |  |
