Where does Mr Grumpy live?
Crosspatch Cottage.What is his problem?
Mr. Grumpy has a shocking bad temper.
For example, when he went into Mr. Meat’s shop he snapped, “Give me some sausages and be quick about it”.
How was Mr. Grumpy’s problem solved?
Mr. Happy and Mr. Tickle decided to teach Mr. Grumpy a lesson. Every day Mr. Grumpy snapped at someone, Mr. Tickle’s long arm came in through the door, and up to Mr. Grumpy, and tickled him. It caused him to drop his shopping. This happened to him at the butcher, the bakery, the newspaper shop, the sweetshop, the dairy and the grocer’s. It went on all afternoon! On his way home to Crosspatch Cottage he met Mr. Happy. Mr. Happy explained that if he were to change his ways then this sort of thing might not happen to him so often. Mr. Grumpy thought about what Mr. Happy had said. After that, he did try to be not quite so bad-tempered quite so often. And, the more he tried the less he found he was tickled.
How did he change?
These days Mr. Grumpy is quite a changed person. In fact, the other day he picked up a book and only tore out one page!
The moral of the story
Don’t be Grumpy!
